Us TOO International, is seeking qualified individuals to serve on its board of directors.
Consistent with Us TOO’s purpose and mission, the board is made up of individuals who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer, a spouse/partner or family member of a prostate cancer survivor, or someone who is involved or interested in support or treatment of prostate cancer survivors.
The Board Membership Committee will submit recommendations for members annually at the December board meeting or at other quarterly board meetings if a board member vacancy is to be filled.
Applicants for the Us TOO board should have a willingness to commit the time, energy and expertise to participate in board meetings each quarter, and to serve on Us TOO board committees and participate in committee activities throughout the year.
Candidates will be evaluated based on possessing of one or more of the following important competencies: Passion for making a positive impact on the prostate cancer community through a leadership opportunity with Us TOO; fundraising aptitude/experience; communication skills to influence key stakeholders; strategic thinking to help guide the vision of the organization and develop programs/content to more effectively serve the prostate cancer community.
Collectively, the Us TOO board of directors should be comprised of members that possess:
High level leadership or executive experience in business, medicine, education, or other relevant field
Knowledge of or ties to the medical field
Financial background and expertise
Diversity of experience, background, gender and ethnic origin
Experience in advocacy/patient advocacy and the legislative process
Participation as an Us TOO support group leader or a very active group member
